Jennifer Tilly was conceived in Los Angeles on 16 September 1958 in very poor circumstances. Her father worked as a salesman, and her mother was a teacher. Jennifer was the youngest child of her parents and often accompanied her mother, who was employed as a school teacher and a theater teacher, to performances. She thought she was amazing. Jennifer's parents divorced when she was five. Jennifer was a resident of British Columbia for most of her childhood after her mother and the remaining four kids moved to the province.
